Well I am finally back and let me tell you I have never been so glad to be home, even if it is cloudy and grey! I had a fabulous two weeks in Florida, the first several days working on site on my Homewood Suites project in Port St. Lucie (gorgeous weather...what a treat that this is my JOB!). Then I flew from Palm Beach to Pensacola to join my sister Jyl and her family in a tag heuer replica beautiful house we rented at Watercolor/Seaside in Santa Rosa Beach. In case you aren't familiar with this panhandle town, it was a real estate experiment started in the early 80's to create a small town coastal village with the principles of a more nostalgic time: the town is laid out in a hub, the houses are all cracker style wood/shingle with tin roofs, and large porches to encourage walking and interacting with other families. It is a gorgeous area, the houses are very colorful (go to my photography page for new photos); our weather wasn't great, but the few days that were sunny were magnificent!
But travelling on Delta Airlines for all 6 legs of this trip, I have to say was very disappointing; every flight was either delayed or cancelled. My luggage finally arrived for my vacation two days later after taking 3 trips back and forth to Atlanta (don't ask!!). I finally got a great customer service rep, Shawna, who took care of it. But coming home, same deal, delayed flight that left me stranded on a missed connection in Atlanta; overnight accommodations in a scary Comfort Inn where my toilet inexplicably started gushing water after a swiss replica watches flush. I must have looked hilarious standing there with one hand holding up the whatchamacallit that would spurt like a geyser if I let it go, trying to find something to wedge in there with the other hand and not being able to move more than 3 feet anywhere. Finally got to the airport this morning to yet another delay and having to be on standby but hallelujah I was able to get on the earlier flight and am now typing in the comfort of my own office!
